“Akaama is the Sacred Covenant Between Spirit, Land, and our Ancestors.”

In the heart of the ancient lands lies Akaama, not just soil and water, but a living altar — where the spirits of the Land, Stewards, Custodians, and Ancestors walk hand-in-hand with the living systems of the world. It is a place where the boundary between the visible and invisible dissolves. A Liminal space.

Akaama now holds the largest erosion sites in the whole of Africa and yearns for regeneration from humans across the globe.

“I witnessed first hand the ecological challenge that is threatening the existence of the Oko community and the wider state of Anambra, due to severe Gully erosion - see the pictures. In some areas the vertical drop is hundreds of feet. People's properties have fallen into the valley and people have been separated by a 100ft wide, 50ft deep valley where previously it was flat land.” - Neil Adams

A Call to Action

The Earth is Yearning. Are you listening?
The gullies that tear through our land are not just environmental disasters, they are the physical scars of a society that has lost its way.

Every time we allow prejudice to define our neighbour, the ground beneath us weakens. We invite you to join hands with Akaama in restoring functional ecosystems especially in our local community.
